Google DeepMind and EMBL-EBI release predicted structures for nearly all catalogued proteins known to science, expanding the AlphaFold database by over 200%

Google DeepMind and EMBL-EBI (European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and its European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI)) have released predicted structures for nearly all catalogued proteins known to science. This expands the AlphaFold database by over 200%, from nearly 1 million to over 200 million structures.

This update includes predicted structures for plants, bacteria, animals, and other organisms, opening up many new opportunities for researchers to use AlphaFold to advance their work on important issues, including sustainability and neglected diseases.
